Von Bullow Mansion (2015)

A series of studies made in collaboration with a group of friends to virtually reconstruct a mansion from Brazil. We experimented with different techniques in the just released Unity 5.0 to create a cross-media experience.

This project was adapted to be accessible via web-browsers, mobile app, VR headsets, 360-videos on Youtube and even a physical 3D printed version of the mansion as a proof of concept for museums and vision-impaired accessibility institutions.

A new 3D printing workflow

The 3D printing of this mansion was also made with a special approach, I've optimized the original 3D version made by David Hoffmann to modularize the house and create a sturdy and material-saving structure.

At the time, many enthusiasts were making a solid inside structure for the 3D printing, but that consumed more plastic and took dozens of hours more to be printed.

So I found a solution to create a blank inside but with thick borders that could support the structure.

You can visualize the 3D model and download it for free on Sketchfab, more information on the button below.
