Palavras ao Mar

Picture
Palavras ao Mar (in English: Words to the Sea) is a children's book written by Claudia Nina, with beautiful illustrations made by the Brazilian artist Laura Athayde and lively animated by David Hoffman using the Augmented-Reality app Artivive.

Made for the Brazil-Finland Cultural Center, it tells about the origins and spreading of the Portuguese language in the world in a introductory geo-political. It was created to be used as an educational resource in the Portuguese-speaking embassies around the world.

Personally, this is one of my favorite projects from 2021. It gave me and the team the opportunity to learn a lot about other countries and their culture, as well as creating entertaining content for children, who received the book and the additional coloring contents with joy. I totally recommend checking the online version and trying out all the colorful AR animations.

How I've participated in this project:

This project had two development fronts, one was the book narrative, which was coordinated by the client, and the other was pretty much everything else related to the art development and book setup, which was coordinated by myself.

This was one of the few project which I had the opportunity to embrace the whole cycle, handling the sales to the public release. Some of my tasks included:

  • Sales & Agreement
  • Art Team recruitment
  • Project Planning
  • Project Budgeting
  • Development Management
  • Art Direction
  • Client Relationship

Gladly I was able to work with an amazing set of professionals who were passionate and dedicated to this project, making it a role-model type of project for me.
