Virtual Museum - Veranópolis
The Virtual Museum - Veranópolis, called fully Matrix Church of St. Luiz Gonzaga - Veranópolis, was a pilot project developed at my own company BizSD back in 2015. In this project we launched a new interactive system for Unity that facilitated the creation of educational experiences for Desktop and VR, at the time the Oculus DK2. This interactive system allowed players to access experiences in multiple languages, choose an avatar, play in multiplayer, hear audio commentaries about the heritage or local stories and interact with the environment in different ways, with native keyboard or controller support.
Based on our 3D Artist hometown, the central church square of the town was meticulously recreated by hand and set-up into Unity 3D, a couple of photogrammetry was made from different monuments and were retouched to the 3D environment. Physics and special effects were later added on, the just release at the time, Unity 5.0 version with better physical-based shaders. For a more detailed explanation on the 3D development, I recommend checking out the 3D Artist portfolio post on ArtStation. See below our UI system with visuals designed by Murilo Castilho:

This project was submitted and approved on the Steam Greenlight back in 2016, receiving positive feedbacks from the community who were looking to see more experiences like this using the videogames technology. The experience wasn't released on Steam in the end since at the same time we started developing bigger projects for ZOAN, such as the Virtual Helsinki first prototype. It was also published in the Made With Unity official showcase back in 2016.
